MU women's recruits update
Here is the update on MU's third signed women's recruit for next season. She is Elizabeth Kudirka, 6-2, from Plainview, New York High School.
Her coach Lance Holman said Liz is averaging 12 points, eight rebounds and 2.5 blocks for the 4-6 Hawks (that nickname sounds familiar).
The following is from the prior blog the other day about the other signees which I have repeated here to mesh with the upcoming coach comments.....
MU signee Samantha Schanuel, 6-3 post player, currently averaging 11.8 points and 10.8 rpg. with 11 blocks for the 9-0 Walkerville, Md. Lady Lions (classification 2A, second to smallest group), ranked N. 8 in Maryland according to coach Mike Mathis. He said she was named to a Holiday Tournament, All-Tournament team.
Junior 5-8 point guard Marbely Montas, Union County College, is averaging 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists, five steals, per Union coach Cheryl Bell. Coach says Montas also an "A-B" student.
Here are comments about all three women from Monmouth coach Michele Baxter, courtesy the MU Press release in November announcing their signings....
""Marbely is a wonderful athlete that scores and defends," Baxter said. "She will have an immediate impact next season on what will be a veteran team."
"Liz is one of those players that all Division I programs are searching for," Baxter said. "She is tall, can run, rebound, and finish. She will continue to get even better once she has only one sport to focus on. We are fortunate to get a highly recruited student-athlete like Liz."
"Sam is the type of player that brings high energy the minute she steps onto the floor," Baxter said. "She works hard on every aspect of the game. She is the type of player that does so much more then what shows up in the stats column."

Got an update this morning from coach Bell of Junior 5-8 point guard Marbely Montas, Union County College. She is averaging 18 points, seven assists, six rebounds, and 3.2 steals
Bob,
Good ideas. I have forwarded them to the Monmouth women's sports information office which also reads this blog.
