For Phil Martin, this season has been marked by pain and patience. But one shot last night helped wipe a lot of that frustration away.
The Curtis senior canned a three-pointer with 24 seconds remaining, styming a late rally by host Monsignor Farrell and giving the Warriors a satisfying 77-72 SIHSL victory in Oakwood.
In a contest that was tight throughout, Curtis (5-1 SIHSL, 12-3 overall) was able to forge a 70-65 lead with three minutes to go on Halil Kanacevic's third chance put-back. On the Warriors' next trip down the floor, Martin was pushed out of bounds by Farrell's James Hett. An angered Martin threw the ball back at Hett and was whistled for a technical foul.
Ryan Rossiter (game-high 30 points) made both free throws and Hett (24 points) followed with a driving basket to cut the Farrell deficit to 70-69 with 1:17 left. A steal by Hett gave the Lions (4-2, 13-3) a chance to go on top, but the senior point guard missed on a drive down the lane, setting the stage for Martin.

For those who may not be aware...Farrell PG James Hett is a Monmouth U signee.
OK THANKS. Because I was gonna say, you are telling us all this because.........
From what I have herd Hett is better then any of the guards MU has now and he is a very good student,Shipman better hit the books and be ready to fight for his spot next season.
Hett is a point guard..in the mold of an Azzarelli from what I have been told.
I can't seem him as being "better" than Youngblood, though he (Hett) is very likely a different type player.
