do you consider yourself a journalist or a fan?
You can feel the enthusiasm you have for everything Monmouth fly off your fingertips.
Can you cover anything Monmouth objectively or are you really the Hawks' No. 1 fan?

I am a journalist who - I feel - writes for the fans ..in this case fans of Monmouth U. athletics.

Am I enthusiatic about MU athletics as we speak. Absolutely. Why not?

As a journalist it's much more pleasant to cover teams that are winning.. at any level. I'm glad you feel that enthusiasm. I hope others do as well.

I guess if you're looking for me to be more critical, it's not easy to be critical of a 9-1 football team, a men's championship soccer team, and a men's hoops team coming off the NCAAs. I'll have to work on that.

I don't think I'm going to blast the MU women for losing in the NEC final...should I?

In field hockey they haven't been winning and let the coach
go..shall we discuss that? Do we need to?

Right now..and I have mentioned it before..this is a golden era for many MU athletic teams. I rememer and maybe you do too, when it wasn't.

Too bad there was no blog then.

By the way..Stan..are you worried about MU beating St. John's? (just a guess on your indentity here on my part)

Nope, not a Stan, and being a 1994 Monmouth grad, i am rooting for the Hawks, so I couldn't care about St. Johns.
Your replay is quite interesting. Sort of cemented my thoughts on it.

Well..I hope you enjoy the blog. It is there for MU fans (and other local college fans as well, OCC, Brookdale, GCU, though we don't hear a lot from them).
Meanwhile..I do know Stan is rooting for St. John's. Losing to MU would cause him some dismay.
On second thought, losing to MU in basketball would send him jumping off the Brooklyn bridge.

And this has what to do with soccer?

Well...in the purest sense soccer is really fotball...right?

Anyway.. The GC is Dec. 2 at the home field of the NEC champion. If Stony Brook defeats CCSU Saturday it will be at SBU. If SBU loses it will be at the winner of the MU-Albany game.
