A difficult road to travel

Since the NEC began playing football in 1996, only one team has rebounded from a league-opening setback to capture at least a share of first place. Ironically, it was Stony Brook last season after losing to Monmouth. The Seawolves (6-5, 5-2) and Central Connecticut State (7-4, 5-2) tied for the crown.

This is not good news for MU...but the task is not impossible.
