More on Del Tufo
This from his high school coach - Jim Baglin, who said the 6-8, 220 pound Del Tufo averaged 12 points the last two seasons and nabbed nine rebounds per game as a junior for 17-10 Menham which lost in the NJSIAA sectional semfinal to Group III finalist Malcom X. Shabazz despite Del Tufo's 28 points.
""His best ability is his ability to handle the ball,'' said Baglin. ""He's a good kid for their offense because their big kids are responsible for a lot of their ball handling. He may not have finished growing. He could end up 6-10. He's a very, very hard worker and loves to play.''
Baglin, Mendam's coach the last 28 years, said he's been a long time follower of Monmouth's program. ""We're really proud he's going there,'' Baglin said.
Baglin said Mendham has four starters returning this season and ""needs Del Tufo to dominate.''
I believe MU now has two scholarships remaining for 2007-2008.
