""Massive'' soccer win for MU

That's how Monmouth U men's soccer coach Rob McCourt described today's 2-1 win at No. 19 Central Conn. in overtime on the road. Steven Holloway drilled the game winner in the second OT after Tom Gray (Middletown South) tied the score in the second half. With the win MU ties FDU for first place in the NEC (both 2-0 league). It's the first time MU has beaten a nationally ranked men's soccer team in recent memory according to Monmouth's Sports Information Dept. MU women are also in first place.

Just a note here.. while we deal mainly with MU football and basketball..comments on other MU sports and the other local colleges (GCU, Brookdale, and OCC) are always welcome. So don't hesitate to participate.

Monmouth men soccers big win against central connectitcut state shows how well the hawks can deal with the pressure of being the number one pick to win it all, not alot of teams can deal with that pressure in there backs and win big games.
