As we speak MU will practice here 2 p.m. Tuesday (I am not attemding that one) but I will call Dave Tuesday night, not sure Wednesday whether MU practicing here or Sac Heart. I think here.
Either way I will drive up Thursday, cover the game Thursday night, go to the practice at Qpac Friday, the game Saturday, and plan to blog through out. Any MU fans making this jaunt?

Unrelated topic but very interesting -- check out letter re the MAAC in editorial section of the Press today.
3-1, with the only loss to Sacred Heart.
Just publishd it on the blog..thank you for the heads up.
This road trip is going to be a big challenge for this team, and a real bar to see just how real this team is. The past 4 games were a lot of fun for MU fans, but now they're going on the road for a few weeks and are going to play some tough teams.
1. Sacred Heart: Everyone is in love with this team right now. However, they did come up short the other night against an upstart Mount St. Mary's team trying to straighten out it's season. They have a very good inside-outside combo in Joey Henley and Jarrid Frye. They also have some strong three point shooters. I am unimpressed with their PG Hobson, and their biggest player C- Liam Potter is a big English Cupcake. If MU can dictate the pace of this game, and especially if THE TOP DOG OF THE WEEK Big John Stud Bunch can take advantage of his size advantage; MU should win the game. PREDICTION: MU-78 SHU-73
2. Q.U.: Every year it seems that this QU team gets more and more talented, but they never seem to put it all together. With players like Karl Anderson, DeMario Anderson and Chris Wehye this team should just be better. Thier PG Gonzalez makes costly mistakes, and their center Akilanju is only 6'6, but is a fearless competitot a la Danny Fortson. I believe they will also be opening their new arena (so jealous!), so it might give them a little extra motivation. However, QU just doesn't play defense and MU does. This should give Monmouth the advantage for a tough win on the road. This is a game where Marques should be able to use his agility to score on the likes of Anderson and Akilanju. Prediction: MU-69 QU-61
3. CCSU: Central is a tough team, even though they lost two key players in Jefferson and Chiera from last year's squad. However, they have Obi Nwadeke who usually gets the best of Marques and dominates the boards, and two very talented guards in Javier Mojica and Tristan Blackwood. Also, they are very well-coached by Howie Dickenmann and give a solid effort everynight. I feel that this game will be the lone loss of the road trip for MU. PRediction: CCSU-71 MU-64
4. St. Francis NY: I watched these guys dominate LIU on MSG last night, but I wasn't very impressed. They have an undersized PF named Robert Hines, who takes ill-advised shots but does seem to have some talent and a burly physique. Also, their PG Jammaal Womack seems much improved; even after he came on strong the end of last season. Alan Sheppard seems to be the big dissapointment here though. I remember him showing flashes of being an ALL-NEC perfomer back in his freshman campaign. But, his offensive game is limited and he looked stiff the other night. I think that this team does not have that much talent, and are undisciplined offensively. Hines and Womack iso one-on-one and beat defenders like Eugene Kortobia and Evan Meekins last night. The MU matchup zone will not allow for such undisciplined offensive execution to succeed. Monmouth will win this game in a defensive struggle. Prediction: MU-63 STFNY-52

MU Mystery Coach...is this guy good or what? He even scouts the other teams!
Actually..I think MU beats CCSU which doesn't match up well with Bunch and MU very well in my thinking anyway.
If they lose on this trip...maybe SHU..or even SFNY..but I think 3-1. In my opinion a 2-2 trip would be disappointing.
If they go 3-1 they come home 5-2...That would be Ok and set them up for the big home stand which includes RMU.
4-0! Nothing less in my opinion.
Hey Tony,
Long time, no blog for me. I have been busy with work and well life, but have tried to stop by the site and read when I can. I missed the last game versus Mount, but understand they are playing better, which is great to hear. Defense has been solid and hopefully it will continue to pave the way toward more victories and ultimately an NEC championship. On the upcming road trip, I see no reason why MU cant run the table or at the least go 3-1, should they continue to guard, and cut down the turnovers as witnessed in the Mount game. I agree with you that MU takes CCSU. I dont know what it is, but I feel that we have their number and like you indicated, the inside matchups should be advantageous for the Hawks. I see MU taking SHU in a relatively close contest, as I see the kids gettin up for that one, since SHU is off to a solid 3-1 start and has some talent in Frye and Henley, among others. Although, my dad was not in love with practice yesterday or last night to put it mildly. I could see QU or St. francis sneaking up and maybe taking one from us, but I see at worst, a 3-1 trip, which would put us at 6-1 or 5-2, and in great position to challenge for a title with RMU and that other NJ team in hackensack, what's their names?
On Miles Austin: Honor the kid, who cares about the other baloney. The kid is a first class athlete, a good kid, and a tireless worker from how I remember him. Basketball/Football/whatever sport, it makes no difference; he's a winner and a great reflection of what MU is about and wants to continue to become. Enough said. Alright I'm out, hoping for a good road trip.
