A Miles long TD
Did many of you see it? Actually I didn't, not yet anyway though I will stay up all night if I have to for replays. . ...I was still writing the MU hoops story when everyone at the Press started yelling (over the phone) about it.
In case anyone is unawares, former Hawk wide out and Dallas rookie Miles Austin returned a kick off 94 yards for a Dallas TD that gave it a 17-13 lead at the time. Seattle won the playoff game, 21-20.
Can't say I feel bad for the "Boys" though.
But, also, do you think the publicity he and MU received tonight will help MU football recruiting? Shows a recruit he can play football at MU and make an impact in the NFL. Any thoughts on this?

I actually did not see the play as it happened, but did see the play on SportsCenter right after the game ended. That's great for Miles. I'll be honest, I have never been a huge Cowboys fan, but I can always root for Miles because I am a Monmouth alum.
Dallas surely gets rid of TO after this year. Does Miles make it into the WR rotation in 2007 or remain on special teams??
My phone was ringing off the hook after Miles ran back that kickoff.
After thing positive he does is a big plus for MU football.
He is a huge part of taking MU to a different level.
That was a sick run back. Overall he has been more than solid for the Cowboys, could see him making a push to compete for 3-4 in WR depth chart next season, and potentially see some regular time on offense. The following year, if he continues to improve, he might be able to land a job as a 3rd reciever with either the good ole boys or another squad should Big Tuna opt out of Big Deez!
I'm sorry...I would've went nuts when I saw that.
Although I am not or never will be a Cowboys fan.
I've always hated the Cowboys, but I haven't missed watching a game all year just to see Miles play. We were all so excited for him Saturday. After the Seahawks scored I said to my sons, watch Miles runs it back. Then we watched and went crazy when he did. He also was in on the tackle on the next KO and made a good hard solo tackle on the last KO.
I hope his parents got to go to the game. Maybe it was them he was pointing to as he ran smiling towards the end zone. They still came to a good amount of the Monmouth games this year, even Fordham in the pouring rain and all the way up to Albany. I hope Miles comes to the banquet this year. I'm sure he'll get a standing ovation if he does.
