Stockton game

If you believe our bloggers from RSU ,there is a buzz down there about this game and we welcome any additional Stockton fans' comments.

Meanwhile.. what is the feeling about the game among MU rooters? Anyone plan to attend? etc.

PS..I haven't seen any "Beat Stockton" signs on the MU campus.

Reminder..it is a 1-pm tip off.

Just talked to coach Gerry Matthews of RSC.

I did not mention "Open Gym Legend" (figured OGL might be better served going incognito).

Apparently the mass hysteria about the game some Stockton folks are alluding to may be a tad over hyped. For one thing there are no fans buses coming up, Matthews said.

Also spoke with RSC freshman guard Kevin Brown from Neptune. He said the Ospreys are excited about the game and said he feels confident the team will do well.

This will be RSC's first game in the 21-years Matthews has been coach vs. a D1 team.

Stockton is going to run the Hawks out of the building. I too lace them up (my chuck taylors) at open gym, and our open gym team would beat MU's best novices on the round ball court!

MU will win the game, but if past is any clue, they will struggle in doing it. That's been their pattern every year lately vs. non-D1 teams.

On the hype at RSU, I doubt it. Just some clown on this blog talking smack.

Tony - do you know anything about RSU's record thus far, and who they've played?

In the end, the Hawks will grind out a W, and RSU rooters will realize they've been in the deep end of the pool.

Tony,

Why was the time of the game changed from 5pm to 1pm?

Could it be Calloway wanted to get home to watch Eagles-Giants?

Tony,

I am not sure if all of these posts are serious or not, and with all due respect to Stockton, but if MU does not purge all of the negative things it has been displaying, I would be shocked. I think this game is strategically timed for the Hawks at a time when they need anything to give them some confidence. They need to see a positive result on the scoreboard for their psyche. I think this game is a great opportunity for catharsis for MU and see a big win, that will hopefully lead them into a defeat of Lehigh. I know we all are anxious for a W regardless of opponent. I, myself need to go to Sunday's game for my psyche as a Hawks fan.

Could it be that Calloway, Tony G, and a large chunk of the Metro area have plans to watch this game? I have to tell the officials to make it "running time."

MU fans and the Hawks need a convincing win to boost their sagging confidence. A close win doesn't really cut it. This would have, could have, should have, been a game for perhaps Crews to unleash his talents.

Perhaps some of the lesser contributing Hawks will have an opportunity to show their stuff.

Of course the big question is? Will Bazaz score?

I wasn't really planning on making a pick for this game, an exhibition game.

MU, in my opinion, is a heavy favorite.

It's an oddity in that there are two different agendas.

While both teams want to win the game, it counts on the W - L record of RSC (by D III rules), but does not for MU.

For MU, it's a perceived opportunity to regain some lost confidence, maybe give some non-regulars playing time, etc.
