MU men's hoop predictions
MU is now 3-8, 0-1 NEC. There are 19 regular season games left..17 in the NEC.
Predict:
1. MU record: prior to the NEC Tournament.
2. MU NEC record.
3. and what place in the NEC MU finishes (assuming Simpson and Crews never play, for whatever reasons).

And you are this optimistic because?
Because...I still believe in MU, they are still trying to find their way, I think they have lost basically to all good teams. I dont know that anyone they lost too is not a team that will contend for an NCAA tourney spot. Also, I think the NEC is wide open, and I think if the defense steps up, the guards make some better late game decisions, and the bigs produce even just a little, that this is a winning team!
Over all 14-16, NEC 10-8 ,6th seed , knock out in round one. RPI 226 and falling. If no line up changes we will be lucky to win 10 games in the NEC.
14-16? Your a pathetic fan then honestly...The NEC is not great, and the Hawks have alot of talent. Why read the blog and bother comment if you feel that way.
Well? What do you think Tony?
Mu has been in this type of situation before, whose to say they can't get hot and go on a run. I think this MU team is highly capable of running of 7-8 games in a row in the NEC. We are 0-1, okay we need to improve, but we have the talent. It is defense and ready....CHEMISTRY! If the kids get on the same page. things can get better. Let's all suport the Hawks and hope for good times ahead.
All these wide range of predictions make for interesting reading, that's for sure.
Assuming, for the moment, there are no changes to the lineup or toning down of the up tempo, than I would not be at all optimistic about a championship, or even a winning season.
My suggested changes which I am on record with:
1. More playing time (at least 30 minutes per game) for Jhamar Youngblood.
2. Slow down the offensive pace.
3. More emphasis on feeding the post players.
4. Tighten the defense..but that's obvious, and I'm not sure they can do it. Bunch needs to be more of a defensive presence and Corey too.
Tony or should I say Benedict? What a traitor. It's amazing how little faith people have around here.
You may call me "Ben" for short.
It's not about being a traitor or a cheerleader.
If you're satisfied the team will be fine without any tinkering, so be it..
Tony,
13-20 from three point line LIU shot right? It's damn hard to win a game when that happens. Hartford, is a very good team. They almost beat Penn St. and had Georgetown on the ropes. Yes, things need to be addressed, but I still see this year as a chance to challenge for an NEC crown.
By the way...I will be out of town most of Tuesday (sneaking General Calloway's secrets to General A.J. Jackson of Robert Morris) but hope to be in touch with Dave after practice at some point, get his take on how things are going, his plans for the rest of the week, and I will post it on this topic or maybe on a new blog later Tuesday.
Ben,
Im telling you we're the real deal. Hawks can fly again and they will. Defense needs to be re-tuned and so does the lineup. Does Calloway read this blog, because if he does he'll know everyone thinks he's playing the wrong kids, not that that matters to him, but cmon if novices around here notice, you'd think a D-1 coach would. And I wont get personal, cause the kids are players, but some minutes and roles need to re-aligned and re-evaluated real soon. But I do believe we can win. Hawks 18-14, sticking to my guns. Let's go Hawks!
So you agree with "Ben" then?
I am not knocking LIU or Hartford (and yes, I know Hartford played G Town and Penn State tough). But I really didn't think either team was anything special and, if MU, is supposed to be the cream of the NEC crop, they were teams MU should beat, at least on its home court.
