Stirring wins, tough losses in the NJSIAAs

.
First, the wins.
Ocean, down 7-0 roars back to beat Nottingham, 10-8. Eric Hinkle, after being shaken up crashing into the wall in the first inning, sits out for a while, then returns and unloads a slam that shoots Ocean back into the game. Greg Spatz and Kyle Norman shut down Nottingham most of the rest of the way.
Ocean coach Del Dal Pra told me tonight Hinkle hurt an ankle and may not pitch or play the OF in Wednesday's SCT but he should be OK to DH and that Jamie Rosenkranz will definitely start vs. TR S in the SCT. As for Friday vs. Colts Neck in the CJ III final his (Hinkle's) status remains to be seen.

Other big comebacks - Point Boro, down 6-1, rallies to win at West Deptford in eight innings, 9-6. Pat Biserta cracks a two-run HR to start the comeback, then bangs a solo shot to lead off the seventh. Boro ties it and wins it in the eighth.

Keansburg comes from way back with five in the seventh to win 14-13. Titans to play for the CJ I title Friday

Tough defeats of the day go to TR South and Freehold Twp.
TR S up 5-0, 8-6, 10-8 loses in eight at Eastern, 11-10. Pitching in a little disarray on the eve of the SCT final vs. Ocean. Look for Joe Talerico to start, By the way, JT jammed a finger and may not hit Wednesday though he is OK to pich.

And Freehold Twp. dropped a killer of a game in eight at Steinert, 2-1. Brach loses in relief, a walk, error, single, a couple of steals, a sac fly and....ball game.

Two games in the MCT Wed afternoon....RBC hosting Freehold Twp., and Monmouth at CBA.
