The stage is set for Wednesday's Freehold-Monmouth key Class B North game in Colonial Country. It looks like Jason Nardi (1-1) for Freehold vs. Monmouth ace Bobby Wyrwa (1-0). A win by Freehold (3-2, 3-2) over Monmouth (4-2, 4-1) tightens things considerably and leaves Wall (2-1, 2-1) alone at the top. The Wall game Tuesday vs. Neptune was postponed.

The Brick rampage (5-0, 4-0) rolls on as it shells Southern Tuesday, 13-5. F. J. Lucchetti the splendid Dragon junior left-hander, wins again to go 3-0. Mike Murano, a big three-run home run helped break the game open. Brick, however, has yet to face any of the Toms River Schools. No one seems to know when the last time Brick started 5-0. It wasn't any time from 1996 on.
Freehold Township's 6-5 win over Ocean Tuesday appears to propel the Patriots into the role of leading challenger to CBA in A North. CBA made it 24 division wins in a row Tuesday with its conquest of Marlboro.

In college basketball news Geoff Billet, Monmouth U. assistant coach, interviewed Tuesday for an assistant's position at Seton Hall. He is believed to have a good shot at landing a job.
