A big game Tuesday in Class A North as Freehold Township (2-1, 2-1) visits Ocean (3-1, 3-1). Since CBA (3-0, 3-0) probably won't lose more than two or three games (and that's stretching it) in Class A North where the Colts are riding a 23-game division winning, neither Ocean or Freehold Twp. can afford to fall another game back in the race for the top spot in A North. Yes, one of them could win the consolation prize, the "public school championship."

First coaching wins Monday for Jon Scala (Middletown North) and Bill Newman (St. John Vianney). Barnegat now 3-2 . Granted their wins are over the likes of struggling Central, Pinelands, and Donovan, but it's still a quality achievement for a team whose oldest players are can't even dream of driving. Manasquan's next win will be 100 for coach Art Gordon. Hey, he might even smile after that one. Maybe.

Shore teams (TRN, TRE, TRS, Brick Memorial, and Colts Neck) all won their first games in Florida Monday. Could be a sunny week for local teams in the Sunshine State.
