Took a ride out to Manalapan this morning for the Ocean-Manalapan high school baseball game. Just as I pulled into the parking lot the downpour began in earnest. But, hey, it was a nice little trip. All action today was postponed. The Ocean-Manalapan game will be played at the recreation field down the road from Manalapan High School Monday at 3 p.m.

Is Brick for real? The Green Dragons look to be the real deal behind the pitching of F.J. Lucchetti and Billy Winters. Southern, off to a 2-0 start for the first time since Year One, has a solid group of seniors. But Toms River East, despite the pounding it took from Brick opening night, is still the team to beat.
