Tony, This isn't really the summer league stuff, but an update on ex-MU player Corey Hallett. His Auckland Stars team failed to make the playoffs. He played 7 games, 2 as a starter. He averaged 5 pts and 5 rebounds per game. Hate to say it but he'll probably have trouble being invited back. All I can say is that I wish all this year's graduates good luck in their future endeavors.
Wow I am surprised that Corey Hallett's career didnt take off after Monmouth.
no one cares about bazaz
A little harsh aren't we?
Let's see..a former walk on, a local kid (a Shore Regional grad), hopes to make a life in coaching.
Tell you what. If it doesn't have interest for you - don't read it!
Why dosent he put in for the Varsity coach for Shore Regional. That would be a good story
Tony, not only is Bazaz a great kid who cares and knows more about Monmouth basketball than most of the players that come through the program, he is going to make a tremendous coach. He knows the game very well and also knows how to communicate with people, a trait that is quickly vanishing among coaches.
That is for sure something I will ask him...
Coaching high school ball now - in so many sports - is becoming increasingly aggravating - not as much from the players as parents who think their sons/daughters are Division I scholarship athletes waiting to happen..

Straight from bff EO's mouth!
to the poster above...even if it was a comment from his "bff's" mouth it is still a very accurate statement so why dont you lay off the kid and grow up
To the poster above:
Sure thing EO!!
to the blogger above, EO didn't write that because I'm writing this. Hey Tony it's me, Eddy. First off, I'm shocked that this many people would be so fired up to discuss summer league hoops in the blog. Second, I find it hilarious that people find the time to say what they do without going about the process of meeting or trying to meet the people they write about. People like Jason Krayl and Tim Walker blog during the hoops season and sign off on everything they write, unlike the vast majority of people who just turn their computer on and blog away without attaching a name to a comment. Steve is a friend of mine, we went to Monmouth together, and yes, he does know more about basketball than every person I know. In fact, he is the only person who knows about basketball than me in my mind. I think it's admirable that Tony would consider writing a feature about someone who is chasing their dream, and all some people can do is hide behind the "Anonymous" identity on a blog and make negative, irresponsible comments. Tony, thanks for the ink, we always appreciate it. And to the other bloggers, thanks for showing some interest in our little summer hoops league, be it positive or not. Thanks Tony.
EO
Wow Bazaaz finally gets some shine. Too bad it wasn't during his college career. For those that say he knows more about basketball than most that have gone through the program, excuse me but what does that say for the monmouth system? Amazing, the one person that probably played the least next to the red shirts is actually more knowledgeble than the staff, current and past players - and you guys are really looking forward to next season. Run, Jet, Run........
HeadBanger
With all due respect to EO, other bloggers, and to Steve - I tend to doubt - as bright as he is, Bazaz has more hoops knowledge in his young life than the current staff, nor do I think he would claim to.
EO is being enthusiastic about his friend which is fine and under standable..
..
By the way..Shore Reg. did appoint a new coach...
To last poster - I am not running comments like that here.
It was Ok until you got to the last sentance.
Make points. Explain what you mean. But if you have to insult some one..don't bother coming here.
If you don't want to post here any more, I won't miss you.
