MU football update

Monmouth has been at football practice since Friday and coach Kevin Callahan seems pleased. Probably the most important news is there have been no injuries.

Callahan continues to be impressed by what he terms ""a very good freshman class." I would not be surprised to see some of the frosh play this season, at least on special teams and Brian Callahan, who turned down Rutgers so he could play football and also baseball at MU, should be in the mix at wide out.
Callahan said among the upperclassmen Brian Boland, Mike Castellano, Adam San Miguel are "doing well." Tuesday marked the first day of pads but there was no full scale contact. The first intra-squad scrimmage is 2 pm Saturday at Kessler Field. I definitely plan to be at that and will have a story for Sunday.

MU will be on TV once this football season on a Fox Sports-New York broadcast on October 28 with Monmouth hosting defending NEC champion Central Connecticut State at 12:00 pm.
