Am heading over to MU rookie camp this afternoon - Are you ready for some MU football???!!!

I'll post my story for tomorrow and my thoughts on today on a new blog topic later this evening (Wednesday) and or tonight.

The plan is for me to cover the freshman (Wednesday) and first full practice (Friday) and then we'll see what happens there after....

Last year only five true freshmen saw any action whatsoever as MU was stacked with a veteran team. They were: LB Joe Cella, RB Ryan Skorupka, OL Shawn Wright (who may be getting a medical redshirt for last year, P/QB Kevin Mandeville, and OL Derek Roskinski were all guys who played in their first year per MU football SID Greg (D. McNabb) Viscomi...

Not so this year, especially on defense where only two starters return (LB T.J. Cerezo and CB Ayo Falae)

Any nominees from fans on what freshmen may see varsity time this year? The full MU roster is on the MU web site.....

Here are some frosh players I think may possibly make a first year impact...

Dave Ogden, the highly regarded DE from Wayne Hills

Mike Fullam, LB from Wayne Hills (brother Matt is in the MU qback mix after transferring from Fordham)

Jim Sullivan - center from Manasquan

Troy Yudin - the fleet `WR from California who was recruited by Penn...

I cannot wait for MU football, cal and the coaches will get these fellas ready for a tough schedule, even after the loss of all that experience they will surprise the NEC once again this year, dunn and locastro on o-line will help lead the offense with burke and sinisi stepping up to take a larger leadership role, cerezo and ayo will have to be more vocal and step up to be the leaders on D they will....its going to be great

it seems to me that there must be existing players waiting there turn to show what they can do. Let's not forget the individuals that were signed the past two to three years.

Re: Existing players. For sure many who have been second or third team last year or so will have an opportunity to step up - and then we have last year's first class of scholarship freshmen...

I'm real excited for this year to start. Imagine these guys playing the Univ. at Deleware (20k plus fans)what a thrill for them!! I've heard the defensive has really worked hard off season-I guess the coaches will find out on Thursday when they run them. Go Hawks!!

Can't wait for the season to begin.

Tough schedule with more scholarship players taking over...we should see a upgarde in play from MU.

It's amazing to see how MU has grown in the 15 years since football started.

Re: St. Peter's - No.

MU will have open dates in its 10 game sked Sept. 15 and Oct 20 - please see MU web site for full schedule.

I believe MU tried to work something out with D2 CW Post which had a mutual open date but both teams wanted to play at home...

MU did not want to schedule a D3 opponent.

The Hawks should drop St. Peter's from all other sports schedules for a couple years to punish them for that debacle they dropped on the football team.
