Advisory/re: spring sports

We now take a moment to divert from the angst over men's hoops to some other MU sports (which are doing rather well by the way, has anyone noticed???..does any one care????).

Each week (perhaps as early as Sundays) the MU SIDS have agreeed to offer their weekly spring sports reports to our blog which I will run for your information and comments. These are the same notes that will run later Monday on the NEC web site but on here of course we can comment on the teams.

Also..due to my obligations to high school baseball (and the high school baseball blog) in the spring I may not get to the MU blog quite as often as in the winter..BUT.. I will be checking it as regularly as possible..usually at a minimum of twice per day and hopefully more, so please bear with me on this......

Thank you

TG

Does anyone care???? That is what you put on your blog? You were always a stand up guy in my book. After seeing you write Does anyone care....I am assuming you mean the other sports at Monmouth, which are doing way better then your loving basketball team, I just lost some respect for you Tony.

Does anyone care? Well, at least you do. Thank goodness.

My question was not meant to be critical, I know people care, but was meant to rouse some discussion over sports other than hoops.

As I said..the spring sports are doing very well....yet there is a very little discussion of them here. It's almost as if they were playing in a vacum.

There are plenty of topics...MU baseball young pitching...Kyle Higgen's' hot start...does softball have enough pitching to back up Heather "Home Run" Gordon and it's hitting attack..is Lax on the way to another NEC title..etc, etc. Let's hear it!!!

And track and field - of course - has been outstanding - as usual.

Bravo Tony for giving some MU sports some love that may not be headline sports, but always help Monmouth win the NEC Commissioner's Cup, which the Hawks are in the lead to claim for the 4th straight season as the premier overall athletics program in the NEC. Keep up the good work
