MU women vs. Sacred Heart Tuesday/predictions?
MU (18-12) fell twice to the defending champs (20-9) during the regular season 60-51 in Farfield, Conn., and at home, 59-54.
MU came from 15-0 down in the first game to take the lead by six before losing. In the rematch at Boylan Gym, MU had a 16-point lead in the second half before wilting late.
MU lost in the prior year's lone meeting at home, 64-63. Overall MU has dropped four in a row to Amanda Pape and Co. but the games are usually close.
SHU had a tough fight with the Mount Saturday, winning 70-67. MU beat the Mount twice this year , once in double OT and the second was another down to the wire affair.
MU has a shot in this one but, I believe, falls short to the senior-laden and battle tested Pioneers, 66-62.
Of course, I also picked Quinnipiac..

Well..I see this topic isn't nearly as exciting as money issues for fifth year MU football seniors..
congrats to the mu women's team...all season they have gone under the radar, but they fought hard on saturday and in my opinion will give sacred heart a run for their money on tuesday (it's so hard to beat a team 3 times in a year especially considering how close these two teams traditionaly play). the last time monmouth went to the title game in 2004 they beat sacred heart in the semis after getting swept in the regular season. the scary thing is that this team is bringing everyone back and will no doubt be a pre-season title favorite next year. i'll be rooting for monmouth and st. francis ny so we can see one more game this year at boylan gym!
The Hawks coulda beat them the first game, shoulda beat them the second game -- if Pape is off the least bit, Hawks will win. The key is SH does not intimidate the Hawks in any way -- they know they can play with them.
To last anon - you make a good point in that SHU does not intimidate MU.
However..since MU jumped way out on them last time..SHU wll be ready from the get go....
I just think SHU has too much big game experience....we shall see...
