Some Ocean County Tournament first round results

Billy Hauer, a junior right-hander, won his first varsity game for Southern when the Rams defeated New Egypt, 3-2. Devon Cocuzza drove in what proved to be the winning run and got the save.

Chris Meyler hit a two-run home run and doubled and scored to lead Lacey to a 6-4 win over Lakewood. Mike Millan tripled twice, drove in a run and scored one for Lacey.


Junior Brian Frank got his varsity win as Toms River East defeated Pinelands, 11-2.

Also, Point Boro over TR North, 6-5.

And.....Steve Giordano hit a two-run home run for Rumson and Mike McDonough a garnd slam in a seven-run seventh as the Bulldogs defeated North Brunswick, 15-5, in a non-conference game. N. Brunswick is coached by Ryan Lillis, a former CBA player who was a third baseman at Rutgers. N. Brunswick, 0-19 last year, was 7-7 after Saturday.
