Final stats on MU forward/center recruit Nick DelTufo

Stats from Mendham coach Jim Baglin: scored ""around 15 ppg." Other stats... averaged eight rebounds, two blocked shots, and four assists.

Saturday at the high school games in Toms River, I spoke with Jay Gomes of who said he saw DelTufo play early this season for Mendham High School.

Here are Jay's comments: "He's a high post center who fits in with what Monmouth likes to do. He's a good passer, he's got a good, strong frame, he can score a little bit down there in the low post.

"" He's going to be good get for them. He's got to get a touch more athletic but he fits what they need. He's a tough kid, he's going to rebound for them. He's going to pass the ball around and he can hit the 15-foot jump.

""Big kids are hard to find and he's one of the better big kids in the state this year. He's 6-8, 225. They need help inside. They've got kids graduating, he's going to help them out.''

Well, after CCSU beats Ohio State and throws the NCAAs into chaos...

Florida goes back-to-back...

How about CCSU getting higher seed than play-in bound Niagara???

13-5 second place in the MAAC and 22-11 won their conf tourney ?Niagara opened 1-6, the consequence of having six players serve suspensions ranging from one to eight games for their roles in assaulting Niagara pitcher Jeffrey St. Denis outside an off-campus bar in August

I have to agree with you, TG. Howie will not be having a fun day/night against O-State. They'll try to keep it competitive, but I'm thinking it'll end up like MU-Duke in 2001, just not a 18-1 start.

On a side, do you agree that Drexel was the biggest snub in the tourney this year (potential new thread talk)?

Drexel may not have desevred to get in over ODU which beat them twice...but I feel should have been in over one of the slumping ""power conference" teams...not a bad idea..we'll try a thread and see how it goes...
