No fun at the "Zoo?"

Monmouth is 2-10 all time vs. Rider at the Zoo..last winning in 1996....Note how well balanced Rider is with a decent assist to turnover ratio. As we speak Bunch is "probable" per Dave for Thursday. Rickie Crews (class) will not make the trip.

The home team had won seven in a row and nine of 10 until Rider prevailed at Boylan Gym last season.

Rider (4-1)
Nov 18 @Boston U. Won 66-60 1-1
Nov 21 @Delaware Won 77-67 2-1
Nov 25 Northeastern Won 70-69 3-1
Nov 27 Drexel Won 89-81 4-1
Nov 30 Monmouth

I hope these are readable..if not I won't run this any more...

The one area where I dont feel to bad is in the post against the Broncs. I know tony is going to call me crazy b/c Jason Thompson, and he is very very good for this level, but regardless I think we mayyyyy be able to win the boards against this Rider team. Now, that all depends on whether John Bunches can play and be effective, and if Corey Hallet mans up and plays tough down there. The guards matchup I would give a slight advantage to the Broncs, bc Mansell and Mouton can really score. I am going to call it right now. MU's first win in Lawerenceville since the Nixon administration. Impeach the Zoo, 56 for Rider 64 for the U (thats MU!). Let's go Big Blue!

*SPECIAL REQUEST*

(No Need To Post)

Tony if you are at MU practice today which I hope you will be, can you check out the following things to the best of your ability:

1. How hard are the kids practicing, and are any individuals not so much?

2. Is every player listening to the scouting report, and paying attention all practice long? If you notice some not, can we be told?

3. What is the general attitude of the team during practice (ex. upbeat, down, hungry, etc.)?

4. How are the coaches reacting, each one individually and as a collective staff? Alot of yelling, positive feedback, mixture, etc.?

THANK YOU...from a loyal Hawk-aholic

If Bunch plays..and he is expected to..that should help some against Thomspon. Rider guards can shoot it!

Certainly not impossible for MU to win. My prediction later.

Well..I accidently published it anyway...

In summary, I was at practice for a while. Krayl was at his loudest in some time and even Chris Kenny got into the act.

Bunch and Crews did practice though Crews will not be at the (Rider) game.

For the person who's comment I did not post: It's 1-195, not the Turnpike for openers and Crews, if all goes well as I stated earlier, will be available at Seton Hall Monday night (whether he plays is another thing)).
It's better to have him academically OK for the long haul, which is the plan, then risk losing him for the sake of a few non-conference games.

Back at practice: yes, I thought everyone was paying attention (I mean I can't be 100 percent sure, but it appeared that way to me) and it looked like they were practicing hard.

A lot of time, while I was there, was spent on defending.

To answer your question: If a player was reamed out I probably would not run it, specifically, though I would mention it generally. But that did not happen while I was there.

Simpson (knees, shins) was missing some practice time. Guess he's available for Rider though I don't know how much (any?) he will play

And general mood was hard to rate.

On a scale of 1-10, 1 being frustrated and depressed and 10 being very satisfied (don't think so!) I'd give the mood about a 4.
