Please post your comments on today's CCSU game and the MU men's hoop scrimmage this morning (if you attended, I did) here. I'll be back later...

Rough 1st half for MU but the boys kept going. CCSU looked tired by the end of it. Go Boland! RMU beats Stony Brook...this season is interesting and MU is 8-1!

Tony who was the small kid wearing number 4 for the blue team. I actually think this unknown was one of the better players/guards on the floor. Was he a late signee?

Men's Scrimmage 10/28:
I attended the scrimmage on saturday and here are my thoughts on each player:
#1 Deki Delic: Delic was a little out of control with his passes and handling of the ball today. However, he did hit a few long distance shots and looks to be in good shape (which is a great sign considering the leg problems he had last year).
#2 Alex Nunner: Nunner impressed the fans by hitting numerous long distance 3 pointers. Alex seems to pretty much be a one dimensional shooter, though. However, in a system like MU's you can always use shooters so I feel Alex is a nice luxury to have.
#3 Jhamar Youngblood: This kid was very impressive. He has explosive quickness, but needs to work on his jumper and playing totally in control (especially when he is running the point). He reminds me of a Dwayne Wade-type of fearless and relentless guard.
#4 TJ Tibbs: I saw the #4 on a 5'8 man's back who was full of energy and thought for a second I was watching Nate Robinson of the Knicks. However, there are reasons why Tibbs is a walk-on, size being one of them. He was quick and full of energy and defense though. I am just surprised he would not be playing at the D-2 level as a rotation player, because he seems to have some potential just not sure at the D-1 level.
#5 Whitney Coleman: Coleman didn't do all that much today. He showed his athletic skills, but also missed a few open outside shots. I am not very concerned with Whitney, I still feel he is going to be a very very good player by the end of his MU career.
#10 Mike Shipman: I felt Shipman did a nice job orchestrating the offense and setting up his teammates today. He showed maturity and hustle, but didn't score often (which is ok because he's a pg). He did have an excellent blocked shot on backcourt mate Coleman that was called a foul (awful call, John Bunch said so).
#11 Simpson: sat out, injured.
#12 Rickie Crews: I hope I caught him on a bad day. Rickie was not exactly what I had expected. He seemed very soft and at times confused as to whether he was playing the wing or the post. A plus is that he seems much bigger than his 6'7 195 listed stats on the MU website. It seems like he has some major potential, I hope he improves and becomes the next star of MU basketball in the future.
#13 Corey Hallett: Wow. He stole the show. Corey was full of energy and looked much stronger and efficient with his offensive moves. He made some long jumpers, had a few strong moves inside and played good defense as well. Corey was the major bright spot this morning.
#23 Marques Alston: Marques played very well. He finished strong inside and hit some outside shots. He must continue to be assertive like the end of last season in order for the Hawks to be successful this year.
#33 Steve Bazaz: Steve played limited minutes, but as always he was a crowd-pleaser.
#34 Dutch Gaitely: Dutch reminds me of an unpolished version of Brent Wilson. Dutch did a nice job orchestrating the offense and passing from the high post. Otherwise, he seems limited offensively and slow-footed. I feel that he will be a good fit in the MU motion offense with his percision passing skills.
#45 Shawn Barlow: DNP injured.
#52 Adam Dobriansky: This guy is big and seems to have a nose for the ball. Didn't see too much from him, however it seems like he might be a capable rebounder especially on the offensive glass where he created a few 2nd chance opportunities for the Hawks.
#55 John Bunch: Big John Stud had a productive practice today. He showed a few nice strong and sweet post moves on the offensive end. John also had a handful of blocks, including a few very nice ones. However, the play of the day was a John Bunch steal at half court, turned into a layup and the foul over Dutch Gaitley at the other end. The footrace between these two big men was worth waking up for.
-That's all folks
