Brookale/Ocean women in Region final
The Brookdale Community College and Ocean County College women's soccer teams are poised to meet for the second time this month with a championship at stake.
Wednesday both advanced in the NJCAA Region 19 Tournament with semifinal round victories as host Brookdale (12-2), ranked No. 5 among Division III junior colleges, defeated Gloucester, 4-0 behind three goals by Kim Thompsen , while No. 10 Ocean (9-2-2) prevailed at Camden, 2-0.
The teams will meet in the Region final noon Saturday at Mercer County College in a rematch of the Oct 12 Garden State Athletic Confernece championship game won by Brookdale, 2-1.
