Hey Tony, I can't help but be a little nervous that there was a HUGE omission in your MU scouting report. How is Bunches doing in his recovery? Was he playing, or doing any on-court drills while you were in attendance? I am possibly going to travel for the opening tournament the Cox Communications Classic (Monmouth, Arkansas St., Clemson and ODU at ODU), will Bunch be ready for the beginning of the season and also how do you see Monmouth doing in that tournament? Thanks.

Didn't mean to omit Bunch. I actually had to copy that part of the blog over and Bunch was left out by mistake.

Anyway..he will be ready for practice I have been told by the coaches and by him. He was there Wednesday but just watching. Won't be doing any pick up games or playing until practice.

In looking at that Cox field ODU will be a tough assignment on their home court I would think, Clemson is picked ninth in the 12-team ACC in Lindy's Basketball Annual..but it is the ACC...and Ark State looks to be the most beatable for MU.

Tony,
Besides the original omission of John Bunch how about how the super-soph's Whitney Coleman and Mike Shipman have progressed? I saw them play together over the summer at the JSBL and they both looked very good, how did they look during the scrimmages? Also, aside from the players aforementioned (and walk-on Steve Bazaz), will there be any other additions to this year's team before Novemeber breaks?

They must have been in the section with Bunch that somehow got cut out. They (the guards) looked fine..Frankly, I mainly was concentrating on the new kids but Coleman and Shipman were fine. Obviously they are key cogs to how things go this year now that they are thrust into major roles. I believe the active roster is now set for this year. Only changes will be the red shirts. I do not anticipate any more additions for this season.
