SCT final..CBA vs. Brick Memorial? St. Rose upgrading schedule, MU football news

Well..let's take a look at the Shore Conference brackets:

If form holds up (it almost never does) one semifinal could be CBA vs.TR South with the other TR East vs. Wall. St. Rose is on CBA's side of the bracket and could be looking at TR South in the quarters, if it gets past the winner of the Colts Neck - Middletown N. game.

The TRE bracket looks very tough with it including Freehold Township, Ocean, Freehold, B. Memorial and Wall. TRE could be meeting Lacey in the second round in an Ocean County final rematch if the Lions get by Raritan in the first round.

Our picks - CBA is too strong in its bracket and makes it to the final to oppose.... streaking Brick Memorial...just a hunch. Of course I'm right every other light year or two!

Kudos to St. Rose which is beefing up its schedule and this week visits defending Goup IV state champion Hillsborough Wednesday and Sunday travels to Non-Public A giant St. Peter's.

For those of you who follow Monmouth University football the Northeast Conference is expected Tuesday to announce agreement with the Pioneer League to stage a post season game between the champions of the two leagues for at least the next two years. and...the NEC will host this year's game!

Back to baseball where Scott Stump of the Press will be covering the Monmouth County Tournament quarterfinal game Tuesday between Freehold Township and Wall. Wednesday I hope to make my first visit ever to Cougar Cove to see Colts Neck host Middletown North in the first round of the SCT.
And Steve Falk of the Observer plans to cover a first round SCT game between Brick and Brick Memorial. Lucchetti vs. Streilein??

Belated congrats to Brookdale with its array of former Shore Conference baseball standouts for winning the District Junior College crown and heading off to the Division II National Tournament for a second year in a row.
