Next year's MU men's hoops sked

Talked to Dave about it briefly today....

Non-conference home games are - Penn, Princeton, Texas Corpus Christie, Rider.

MU opens at Paradise Jam in a loaded field featuring Notre Dame, Ga Tech, Ill-Chicago. Don't have all the eight teams but there are NO easy ones. Looks like an 0-3 start. I don't have all the non-league away games ...

Seton Hall will visit MU the first year the MAC is open....

Tony go say that to Coach Calloway or Coach Krayl or some of the players, and see how much respect they have for you. Do you remember MU beating Vanderbilt a few years ago? How about Southern Illinois?

Just being realistic.

MU's guards will be a strong point next year, well, they better be..

But, barring a major recruiting coup, please tell me who the front court players are who will be able to compete with the caliber of front lines they'll be up against.....

The coaching staff knows what it's up against in that tournament.. believe me..

Tony,

UIC isn't exactly a top team. They are 9-16 this season. Granted they play in a good mid-major conference but they aren't exactly lighting the world on fire!!

I agree with Bob, nice to see us keep scheduling tough opponents!!!

UIC as of this morning 8-16 vs. D 1s, College rpi.com 202. (beat Detroit this afternoon) does own a win (at home )over Butler (22-2, rpi of 30).....Theoretically, maybe a beatable team on a neutral floor...but a slim maybe I would think

They start two seniors..two juniors and a sophomore..six-foot junior guard Brandon Cotton leads the Horizon League in scoring (18.2 ppg.)

As you know, I'm just trying to offer my opinion. People should take heart in that I'm almost never right.

Let's see they're gonna play Seton Hall again....that's 0-4...they're probably going to lose to Texas CC even though it's at home ....Penn and Princeton at home..maybe..maybe..a split there.. Rider at home ....Broncs have the Thompson brothers back...a tough game....

Don't have the whole schedule yet..will ask Dave about it at Sunday's practice....

Tony, who do you think will start in the front court next year? Simpson at SF? Crews at SF/PF? Which redshirt center do you think has the edge? Will Deltufo get a look to start? Thanks.

Do you have any eligibility left??

Right at this moment...you might see the three guards start..especially vs. teams where MU might not get killed on the glass..as we know Jhamar is a super rebounder for his size and ..Shipman and Coleman have shown some glass ability as well..

Crews would definitely start at a forward slot...then..
TJ Tibbs at center!..Just kidding..

I think as a pure center Dobriansky has the edge at the moment...

Then Simpson and or DelTufo and or Gaitley off the bench .....

Although...you could go with the three gaurds and Simpson at SF
and Rickie at center? That's where "The Phantom" has been playing some at practice..

And of course..there's Shawn Barlow..well..he is there..

After the three guards it's really an uncertain situation at this moment....

I have to guess a "kid" like Simpson..who will turn 23 during the season... has to play a major role in the rotation if healthy .....

I'm afraid an Iona-like season may lie ahead for us next year. The way this team is structured (poorly), we'll probably even be the doormats of tne NEC!

Iona season?

Barring some key injuries I don't see that. I think you're jumping a little too far off the deep end here.

MU will have good guards..Jhamar could be special.

A middle to lower end finish could be possible..that's true.

But let's see what happens in recruiting, etc.

Right now...NEC next year..I would say 6-7 wins...that's not good to be sure...but that's the very low end and could very well be better

I don't see 1-27. Maybe 2-26.....kidding!!!

Hmmmmm...fascinating.

Damn...I'm still trying to figure out what's going to happen over the next two weeks!

But it does make sense..SHU, WAG (with Vinson back), MSM, all relatively young this year....

MU would pobably be a "surprise" team next year if it does well..and there always is one...or several as we have seen this year...

I believe I heard that from the MU coaches...not sure though. Might have been from Wagner.. I will e-mail their SID...
