Your MU vs. SFNY post game comments

Please make them here. Due to the fact SFNY does not have wireless for the Press in the gym or its sports information office ..I will probably not be able to post the story or even read posts on the game until I get home which will be around mid night or so.

As I have often said..I would rather drive to Altoona, Pa. than Brooklyn!! For many reasons.

Here's a little fatherly advice for Calloway coming from an ex coach. Dave, no one likes a guy who's shoving numbers in their face all the time. That six winning seasons in a row line, which is clearly endin right now needs to go. I mean sure be happy, but people are no longer impressed with you. Have some humility. I guess this season will be a humbling experience for you if youre going to progress as a coach. Take this as you will, but Ive heard several people comment like this.

I cant even imagine what is being said right now, but here are my key points:

1.Outrebounded 31-21
2.Alex Nunner, good shooter? 1-6 from 3...what is he shooting from 3 for the year?
3.Alston disappeared in second half
4.Corey Hallet, 4 points and 2 reb in 23 minutes, disgrace!
5.Outcoached!

Just a quick comment here before I hit the BQE.

Why shouldn't Dave trumpet the six winning seasons in a row? Any coach would.

It has nothing to do with humility. It has to do with a run of success MU fans should be proud of.

Hey, New England had a nice Super Bowl run there for a while.

Think Patriot fans were critical?

Geez!

First of all, don't call these guys a bunch of losers. They are NCAA student athletes and are playing with all they can. I agree that this team is heading in the wrong direction, but I don't think they should be deemed "losers".

Anyway, this team needs to turn it around, and fast. Thank god we have Shipman back, he'll add some depth to our depleted lineup. Was there a phantom sighting tonight TG?? And do you think Shipman goes back to the starting lineup or you think that Youngblood stays put?

I have to agree with the MU student here.

But I let that other poster vent, and maybe I shouldn't have.

I have had to chop a few comments tonight I thought were overly personal, or way too hasrh.

You would think some people would have a little more empathy about "their" or "your" team. I guess not.

These kids aren't trying to go out and lose these games you know.

Shipman played (17 minutes, one basket, one assist, one turnover, fouled out) and wasn't all that effective. "Phantom" appeared for a few (5) minutes (one miseed shot, two fouls).

I would think Shipman now comes off the bench ahead of Nunner and you will see more three guard alignments.

At least they now have more depth and look for Rickie to weave in some more minutes as well.

Let's try to discuss the five-point comment from anonymous

1. Rebounding - no argument there.

2. Nunner now 15-for-59 (25 percent).Yes, it's been bad.

3. Alston picked up his fourth foul when it was 55-54 SFNY. Believe Dave took him out just for a few moments there. Not an incorrect move.

4. Corey Hallett - unless you were one of the 226 homeless people who somehow found their way into the game (just kidding!) you didn't see Corey make two very good, strong moves under the hoop for baskets.

But then he wanders outside and starts firing up jumpers.

Porblem is...when he and Bunch are in the game he's got to be outside because you don't really want Bunch roaming at the foul line....when Marques and Bunch are on the floor, Marques is a better passer and shooter from the perimeter.

5. Outcoached. The usual squeal from a frustrated fan. Like to point out where?

Had to edit this a little...

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Your MU vs. SFNY post game comments":

Three games out of four, a hawk fires up a three pointer when we can hold for one shot. First two times Delic, no suprise their, clearly shot selection not in his vocabulary, then tonight Nunner.

Unreal.

Where do you get off calling these kids a bunch of losers??!!! That post should have never made it and had not constructive points at all except to insult a group of 19-21 year olds!!! They work hard everyday. So they are in a bit of slump. A lot of this teams problems are stemming from shot selection. In other words, if the 3 point shots aren't falling, don't shoot them!!!!!

I again apologize for allowing that one comment to slip through.

Trust me - that was mild compare to some remarks.

I am really amazed at some of the venom that I receive. You're right. These are college kids.

I try to strike a balance between not running malicious or personally insulting comments, while at the same time allowing fans to vent, and they have that right.

Thank you for your comment which at least included some constructive criticism.

Yes, they do fall too much in love with the 3, as opposed to running the offense.
