Was at practice today for a little bit and had a Blake Hamilton sighting. Blake is working out with MU while looking for a pro job overseas. He said he will not be going back to Poland. Was nice to see him. He said Dwayne Byfield is working in Manhattan and is no longer playing ball.

Barlow (ankle) and Simpson (shins) were in uniform but not practicing yet.

Dave said something today during the media conference call about Bunch and Hallett playing a little more together than they did last year when they were almost never on the court at the same time.

MU will scrimmage Lafayette Wednesday evening at Boylan Gym. The scrimmage is closed to the public and even the media. I will talk with Dave at some point Wed night or Thursday and have his take here for you.

MU football injuries: Fred Weingart (knee) out for the year; Bryan Bischoff (ankle)game-time decision Saturday; Matt Hill (concussion) is OK.

Again..key scenario. Barring upsets or the like MU needs (two wins) and an RMU win over Albany to set up possible three-way -tie for first place which would enable MU to host the Gridiron Classic via highest Sagarin ranking. Either way MU can clinch at least an NEC record tying fifth co-championship if it wins out. RMU won five from 1996-2000.

Upcoming Press coverage: Thursday - MU women's media conference call report with comments from coach Baxter, MU football feature touching on the eight fifth-year seniors playing their final game (maybe) ay Kessler Field Saturday.

Friday: NEC Tournament Glance Boxes men and women.

Saturday: MU men's soccer coverage with Steve Edelson on the case
though I hope to be there at some point.

MU women's coverage via Monmouth and Eddie Occhipinti (from now on he's EO, that was an easy nickname wasn't it?) e-mail report.

Last call for your soccer predictions!.Who advances?..MU men, women, both, neither.

If either team wins I will do an advance (s) for Sunday and will cover the men if they are playing. EO at women.

Saturday: MU football advance.
Sunday: MU football coverage.
Monday: MU football folo and possible soccer coverage

Coming late next week: MU hoops features (men and women). Men is on Delic. Women..not sure yet, but I have an idea I first have to check on.

Anyone going to Cox Classic? Let us know and give us reports. I will be at high school football game (s) and possibly MU football on the 11th.
