MU softball from EO and me/First place battle shaping up!!!

From me - First place in the NEC likely to be decided Saturday when MU 23-8, 9-1 visits LIU 20-16, 6-0.

MU has never won the NEC softball tournament. It did finish first regular season in in '99

From E0 -

Team Notes: The Monmouth University softball is now 23-8 and 9-1 in the Northeast Conference after going 4-0 this past week, including sweeping Saint Peter’s 9-4 and 11-8 on Wednesday and Fairleigh Dickinson 3-0 and 8-0 on Saturday.
A little history and a great comeback were on display Wednesday afternoon when the Hawks took two games from Saint Peter’s, downing the Peahens 9-4 and 11-8 in non-conference action. Monmouth Senior Heather Gordon (Hatboro, Pa./Mount St. Joseph’s) -
from me - that's ""Home Run Heather" !!!

set the all-time single season school record for runs batted in during the first game on a two-RBI single in the bottom of the first and the Hawks came back from down 8-3 in the second game to complete the sweep. Gordon came into the game tied with Michelle West (1999) with 42 RBI this season and didn’t need long to establish the mark as her own with her two run-scoring single in the bottom of the first in game one. On the afternoon, Gordon went a combined 5-for-7 with six RBI in the two games.

More softball notes will be on the NEC web site Monday...
